Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Lock Inward (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lock Inward (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

Lock Inward is a productivity and wellness application that allows users to set schedules during which access to selected apps on their iOS device is restricted. App access is restored only after the user completes a journaling session within the App. The App uses Apple's Screen Time and Focus APIs to enforce these restrictions.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on your personal iOS device for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include:

• Copying, modifying, or distributing the App or its content
• Reverse engineering or attempting to extract the source code of the App
• Using the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
• Sublicensing or transferring your rights under this license to any third party

Lock Inward may offer optional premium features through in-app purchases and subscriptions processed through the Apple App Store. All purchases are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
• We do not offer refunds for in-app purchases beyond what is required by Apple's refund policies.
• Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.

By using the App, you agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of managing your personal screen time and journaling habits
• Not attempt to circumvent or disable the App's restrictions through unauthorized means
• Not use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App or interfere with any other party's use of the App
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in connection with your use of the App

The App and all of its content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are owned by Lock Inward and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will function without interruption or error, that defects will be corrected, or that the App is free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LOCK INWARD, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its premium features in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the Effective Date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your license to use the App immediately ceases.
